How To Reach Nepal ( For Tourists From Foreign Countries. )
You are supposed to take a flight from your respective countries to Kathmandu airport in Nepal. Moreover, it depends on the country, you are residing in and the Airfare also depends on the country you are living in. Moreover, you can get a direct flight or a round flight, depending on your country.
First Thing To Do After Reaching Kathmandu
Get your visa verified at the Kathmandu Airport. Don’t forget to get your money exchanged at the Airport. You can also purchase a local sim because the sim of your respective country will get deactivated, once you enter the Nepal border. Then you can proceed to your hotel by any mode of transportation, depending upon the distance where your hotel is located.
How To Reach Nepal ( For Indians )
If you want to travel from India then you have all three options open to reach Nepal. Moreover, you can use a bus, a train, or an airplane to reach Kathmandu and from Delhi Airport, you can have a direct flight to Kathmandu Airport.
If You Want To Travel By Road
If you want to travel by road, you can book a DTC bus that starts from the Dr. Ambedkar bus terminal. From Delhi, it takes nearly 30 hours to reach Kathmandu. The cost of the ticket initially used to be Rs. 2300 per passenger but now it has been hiked to Rs 2800 per passenger. It is an A.C Volvo bus having no sleeping cabins in it. You can book a ticket for this bus online also. Try to book the ticket 7 days before your scheduled visit. Moreover, the bus starts its journey to Kathmandu at 10:00 am and the ticket for this bus can be booked on www. etc booking.in, online site. For filling online application for booking your ticket, you need one of your identity proofs.

Journey By Private Buses
If you want to travel by private bus, this option is also open for you. The fare charged by these private buses is comparatively lesser than the DTC buses. No online booking of such mode of transportation is done.
By Bike
If you want to travel by bike then you are supposed to take a permit at the border. The charges of a permit for bike holders are Rs 120 per day. If you have planned your visit for 7 days then make your permit for 8 days. Moreover, this permit acts as visa acts in other countries, and please make sure that all the documents related to your bike are ready. If your documents are not complete then you have to pay the penalty of Rs. 2200.
By Car
You need to take a permit in case you plan to visit Nepal by car also. The permit fee for a car is Rs.400 per day. Always try to purchase the permit for one extra day as a precautionary measure.
By Flight
If you want to reach Nepal by flight you can get it from Delhi Airport. Moreover, a direct flight from Delhi Airport to Kathmandu Airport will drop you at your destination in one hour and thirty minutes. You can reach Kathmandu by paying the fare of Rs. 6000- Rs. 8000.
By Train
There is another option for you to reach Kathmandu. Moreover, it is the best and the cheapest option to reach Kathmandu, ( For Indians ) and the users of the train have two options to reach Kathmandu.
1. Via Raxaul Border in Bihar.
2. Via Gorakhpur in Utter Pradesh.
1. Via Rexall Border
If you want to travel via Raxaul Border, you can get a train from Delhi to the Raxaul border. The fare of train per passenger is:
Sleeper class Rs. 550
3rd A.C Rs. 1475
2nd A.C Rs. 2130
1st A.C Rs. 3060
From Raxaul the distance to Nepal Border is 1.5 km. Moreover, the next station is Beerganj which is at a distance of 8kms from Raxaul and you can avail of the services of an auto to cover the distance of 8kms by paying Rs. 50- Rs 100. Beerganj lies in Nepal. As soon as you enter the Nepal border the Sims of your respective places get deactivated. You are supposed to purchase another sim from that Country. You are supposed to get your money exchanged at the border. Indian currency below Rs. 100 is acceptable in Nepal. So try to keep the change or notes which are less than Rs 100 in the denomination. Plenty of shops are available there to get your money exchanged.
1 Indian Rupee = 1.6 Nepali Rupee.
100 Indian Rupees = 160 Nepali Rupees.
I suggest you get Rs.6000- Rs 7000 converted into Nepali currency. If in case, you are left with some unused money while going back to your country, you can again get it exchanged into the currency of your country.
Beerganj To Kathmandu
The distance between Beerganj to Kathmandu is nearly275 km. Moreover, you can cover the distance by an A.C or non- A.C bus, the fare of a non- A.C bus is Rs. 600 per passenger whereas the fare of an A.C bus is Rs. 1050. After 8-9 hours of journey by bus, you will reach Kathmandu.
2. Via Gorakhpur Border
You can, first of all, have your train from Delhi to Gorakhpur. From Delhi to Gorakhpur the train fare is as:
Sleeper Class = Rs. 445
3rd A.C = Rs. 1165
2nd A.C = Rs. 1600
1st A.C = Rs.2685
Gorakhpur To Kathmandu
Moreover, from Gorakhpur, by paying a fare of Rs.120 and traveling for 2-3 hours via bus, you will reach Nautanwa From Nautanwa the distance of Sanofi ( Nepal Border ) is 6-7 km which you can cover by auto. The auto fare will hover between Rs.50- Rs100. Moreover, at Sanofi, you can get your money exchanged and move ahead to Bhairwaho which is 3kms away from Sanofi, and from Bhairwaha Kathmandu is at a distance of 270kms. Moreover, you can use an A.C or non-A.C bus to reach Kathmandu and the fare for an A.C bus is Rs.800 and for a non-A.C bus is Rs. 500.
Documents Required To Enter Nepal
1. If you travel by Airplane you should have a certificate showing that you have taken both shots of the corona vaccine.
2. You should have a negative RTPCR report. This report should be a maximum of 72 hours old.
If you have entered the Nepal border by bus, taxi, or motorcycle, in that case, an RTPCR report is not mandatory. You should have only owned a certificate showing that you have administered both doses of the covid vaccine.
Simcard In Nepal
You can purchase a Simcard in Nepal for Rs. 200. You are supposed to pay for the calling balance according to your requirement.
Accommodation
Accommodation in Nepal is not costly. You can avail yourself of a room in an average hotel by paying Rs 500- Rs 600 per night. You can also stay in a dormitory by paying Rs 200 per night.
Food
Moreover, you can avail a variety of food in Nepal, and a reasonable food plate costs between Rs. 100- Rs. 120. The food is tasty and cheap in Nepal.
Best Tourist Places In Nepal
1. Pashupatinath Temple
It is one of the oldest, most famous, and most pious temples of the Hindus in Nepal. It is built 3km away from Kathmandu on the banks of river Bhagmati. Moreover, this city is situated at a height of 1400m and is a source of entertainment for tourists, the best thing here is the environment which is very charming and is famous for its art, temples, history, and nightlife.
3. Pokhra
It is another famous tourist spot in Nepal. Moreover, this city is situated at the foothills of the Himalayas and is the second largest city in Nepal. Pokhra is called the tourist capital of Nepal. This city is known as the entrance door of Nepal. It attracts tourists because of its beauty and entertainment resources. Pokhra is divided by the Gandhaka river and its tributaries. 4. Nagarkot

7. Bhaktapur
It is the third largest city in Nepal. Most of the population residing here is the HINDUS. Moreover, you can start your journey from the city in Durbar Square and here you can visit the royal palace and various temples. This place also has been declared a World Heritage site. Many of the buildings here were damaged in an earthquake in 2015. Most of the buildings are under reconstruction. Some of the damaged temples have been reconstructed whereas some of them are still under construction. Restoration work is going on at a slow speed.
8. Boudhanath Stupa
Moreover, this stupa lies just outside the boundary of Kathmandu, and its believed that this stupa has been constructed in the 6th century. It is also a World Heritage Site. Moreover, this stupa represents enlightenment and the symbols on this stupa represent the basic five elements of life, those elements are earth, air, fire, water, and sphere. These symbols represent the structure of the Universe. This stupa had suffered from minor damage during the earthquake in 2015.
9. Annapurna
As it is the most famous trekking region in Nepal so people who love adventures, visit this site in large numbers. Annapurna Circuit and Poon Hill are the two most trekking sites in this area. Moreover, Poon Hill is situated at a height of 3,210kms above sea level and Some trekkers climb to the top of Poon Hill to witness the glorious view of sunrise. From the top, you can have a view of the Dhaulagiri, Machapuchare, and Singa Chuli areas. Annapurna Sanctuary which lies between the peaks of Annapurna is another source of attraction for tourists.
