Anyone belonging to any religion can read these teachings and can apply them in their lives to have a blissful life. These teachings apply to all human beings. Please quote this word ‘HUMAN BEING’.
Lord Krishna
What Religion Is
As we all know that religion is a word discovered by humans like us. The teachings of all religions are almost the same. We all know that God is one but is known and worshiped by different names. A true human being looks at all religions with respect and treats other religions equally as his religion. All of you who are reading this article, or will be reading this article will surely be benefitted from it. These teachings have the same impact on the lives of people belonging to any religion. It is a treasure delivered by Lord Krishna himself, the biggest motivator of the earth. So, without any delay, I am going to start it.
1. Everything Which Happens, Happens For Our Good
In the olden days, a woman lived in a village. She had a son who was born healthy. Because of an accident, the boy lost one of his fingers. The mother became very sad and started cursing God for that incident. She always questioned God about what was her son’s fault that he(God) snatched away from her son’s finger. One day a devil came into the same village in the disguise of a priest. The devil wanted to sacrifice the lives of several children to increase his power. He started kidnapping and sacrificing the children of that village. He kidnapped the child of that old woman too.
What Happened Next
As soon as he started to sacrifice that child he found that the child was without one finger. At the same time, he remembered the words of his guru that he has to sacrifice the healthy children, that too has all the body parts intact. So, because of the words of his guru, he was forced to release that child. After finding her son alive the old woman became very happy and thanked God for all that. She realized her mistake. The motive of telling this story is that whatsoever happens to you is for your good. God should never be cursed for that. We should accept all the circumstances with open arms.
2. We Can’t Escape From Doing Karma And Getting Its Fruit
The human body cannot survive without doing its Karma(work) even for a second. Performing karma is part of our lives. Even during our sleep, our body is performing its Karma. During our sleep, we dream of different things, which means that it is in the state of performing its Karma. Our heart, lungs, kidneys, etc. work continuously even during our sleep. God also says that we shouldn’t get ourselves bound to a particular work. I mean to say that we always have to think that whatsoever we are doing, is not done by us. God is doing it. We only are a medium to perform that work. If we start thinking in such a way then our thought process will reach such a level that we will never feel stressed, we will never regret and even after achieving everything, we will not have any feeling of ego.
3. Instead Of Being A Slave, It Is Better To Live A Free Life
Whatsoever the challenges we are facing in our lives if we are free only then we can be called actual human beings. In Bhagvat Gita it has been mentioned that it is better to die instead of living the life of a slave. We are slaves to our thoughts, to our brains. Today we are slaves to our smartphones, we are working like slaves to our bosses.
Difference Between Working For Others And Being Slave
There is a very minute difference between working for others and being a slave to others. The minute difference is ‘Self Respect’. If we cross that line we become slaves to others. Until and unless a person works with self-respect, means that he is living a free life. Once the line is crossed slavery begins at that very moment. So, it is better to remain free and face all the challenges of life boldly.
Freedom
You might have seen a parrot in a cage. Even though it is getting various types of food items to eat in the cage. It has no freedom to fly in the open sky. This means it has become a slave and sacrificed its freedom. I am very much sure that once the cage is opened, it will prefer to fly away and will never return to its cage again. This is the power and joy of freedom.
4. Desires, Anger, And Greed Are The Doors That Lead To Hell
Every person has many desires. These desires increase with the increase in income. No one on this earth is without desires. We actually cannot live without desires. Having desires is ok but if to fulfill our desires we choose the wrong path or harm others, in that case, it becomes a crime. To fulfill our desires if we are causing loss or harm to others is wrong and we must be ready to face the consequences.
Anger Is A Sign Which Shows That You Are Weak
A sign which clearly shows that a person is very weak is anger. A person who becomes angry again and again on even very small things is very weak. To hide his weakness, he shouts at others. Greed is the third door that leads a person to hell. It is a curse that can drive anyone on the wrong track. You might have heard the story of the hen who used to give a golden egg daily to its owner. Because of greed, the owner killed it to get all the golden eggs in one go. The result might also be known to you. The owner lost the hen and never was able to get a golden egg. So, leave greed and believe in your hard work.
5. What We Have Achieved In Our Lives Is Because Of Our Thoughts
Whatsoever a person has gained in his life is only because of his thoughts. Even if a beggar wants to be rich, he can do it if he thinks about it. Nobody can stop that beggar from becoming rich. On the other hand, if a rich person wants to destroy his money, it’s very easy for him to do so. If any person is called the ‘God of cricket, it’s because of that person’s thoughts. If an athlete wins a gold medal in any competition, it’s only because of his strong thinking ability and hard work. It may take several years to achieve the goal but if focused, no one can stop you.
6. A Person Comes Empty Handed And Leaves In The Same Way
It is the largest known fact that we were born empty-handed and will leave this world empty-handed. No one can take anything when he leaves the world or dies. The things we own today were owned by someone else previously and will be owned by some other person after our death. The money, name, and position we are holding presently will move on to the next person when we will die. This is the truth which has been written in ‘Bhagvat Gita’, which every one of us should understand. The only thing which is left behind is humanity. So try to be a good human being first of all. Be polite to others. If anyone is holding a good position but doesn’t have humanity, then what is the worth of that position?
7. The Most Intelligent People Are Those Who Have The Ability To Make Their Mind And Brain Work In One Direction
A person who has many desires can’t live a happy life. When desires are not fulfilled anger starts developing in such people. If anyone can control his emotions in the right direction for performing an activity that satisfies him, he can hit the goal. This means that the said person’s brain and mind are working in one direction. We aren’t happy because of too many desires. It is the principle of life that every desire of ours can’t be fulfilled. It’s said in the Bhagvat Geeta that happiness is the state of mind which can be attained only when our brain and mind start working in one direction. Happiness can’t be achieved by fulfilling our desires. So, start doing the work which satisfies you and let your brain and mind work in one direction.
8. The Work We Are Doing, Can Be Judged Right Or Wrong, Depends On Our Intention Only
Why do we want to do a particular work? What is our intention behind doing that work? Are we doing the work to fulfill our desire or we are doing it without any self-interest, for the benefit of others? In the war of Mahabharata Kauravas and Pandavas were fighting against each other. Their motives were different from one another. Pandavas were fighting for truth and Kauravas were fighting for their greed. Both of them were fighting on the same battlefield against each other with all their might. Even though in the same battle, on the same battlefield, Kauravas lost the battle because of their unjustified motive. Their intention was wrong, they were on the path of adharma and adharma can never win.
9. Truth Can Neither Be Hidden Nor Defeated
Never be afraid of speaking the truth. People who hide the truth or help others in hiding the truth are the real culprits. You may face tough times while walking on this path, but believe me, the truth was victorious, is victorious, and will be victorious always. Truth can be hidden for some days but comes out one day or the other. Such people get exposed one day. Truth comes out in the same way as fragrance spreads out in all directions once its lid is opened. Truth and Sun’s energy can’t be hidden for more time. A time comes when no one can stop the truth from coming out. If anyone of you who is reading this article or will read this article, if involved in such activity, is advised to leave this path or be ready to face the consequences.
10. If We Want To Achieve Something In Life, We Have To Struggle For It
If we don’t want to struggle then we shouldn’t feel dissatisfied for not achieving our goal. We should be ready to accept the result of our karmas in that case. If we want to achieve something in our lives, then we have to work hard neglecting whether it’s a day or a night, feeling hot or cold, feeling hungry, etc. Our goal should be in our minds, nothing more than that and nothing less than that also. We are expected to bear all the circumstances if we have to do something in our lives. A person who dreams only continues to dream whereas the person who performs, takes away the cream.
11. Never Restrict Ourselves In The Boundaries Of Victory Or Defeat
If any person understands this concept clearly, all the sorrows will disappear and such a person can do any work without any disturbance. There is no stone left that can’t be unturned by the person. No goal is left behind that can’t be achieved by such a person. The biggest thing is that such a person never suffers from ego, despite achieving success in life. We always think that we are putting a lot of effort into our work, and we are going to taste victory. Our expectations become very high and the quality of work decreases. A person with a greater amount of hard work is going to taste success. If our Karma will reach that height, we too will become successful. We have to only deliver without thinking about the result. We can only perform our Karma and the rest depends on God.
12. We All Are Born To Learn Something
Right from birth, we start learning new things every day. There are two types of deaths we face in our lives. No. one death is when our heart stops working and the flow of blood stops regulating inside our nerves. No. two death is when we stop learning something. In Bhagavat Gita, it is mentioned that real death is not when our heart stops working but real death is when we lose our heart. In such a situation, no one can help us.
What Is Written In Our Holy Books
It is also mentioned in this pious book that after death our soul enters into a new body with improvements every time. When the highest level of improvement is reached, the soul is blessed with Moksha ( A stage when the soul is relieved from the cycle of rebirth). We should always think that the God who has made us, is so powerful, then how we can be weak? We should have a never-give-up attitude and shouldn’t consider ourselves inferior to odd situations.
13. The Most Powerful People Are Those Who Know The Art Of Forgiving Others
Have you ever thought that what property of God has made him ‘The God’? It has been quoted in Bhagavat Gita that a person with great powers is blessed with the art of forgiveness. God himself had forgiven the devils like Kansa, Ravana, and so many others. Forgiveness doesn’t show that you are weak but shows that you are strong. It’s very easy to get angry at others but to remain calm in tough times, shows your strength. Forgiveness is an asset that God has and we should always try to empower ourselves with this tool. Lord Krishana forgave his biggest enemies when they accepted their faults and even showered his blessings on them.
14. Every Successful Person Is Followed By Others
If any actor appears in a movie with a new hairstyle. Most teenagers and even mature people start following that hairstyle. Everyone starts copying him. This teaching was given by Lord Krishna to Arjuna, hundreds of years ago. Lord Krishna inspired Arjuna to fight against the Kauravas. Krishna said if you fight against Kauravas you will set an example for others to follow. If you will not fight, the coming generations will call you a coward person. So, if you have achieved a place in society that everyone can’t reach, in that stage you should set an example so that people can follow you. People always pray before the rising sun, the same is the case with famous personalities. People try to follow them.
15. Life Changes Only When We Change The Way Of Our Thinking
If you have the ability of thinking in a different way than others, this different way of thinking can make you a successful person. All of us want to do something different in our lives, according to our capabilities but only a few of us can achieve success. If we desire all the luxuries of life, it’s ok as we are free to think. It needs a change in our thinking ability. Change in our thinking ability makes us different from others. To achieve something different, efforts of different nature are required.
16. Try To Control Your Thoughts
In Bhagavat Gita it is clearly said that it’s not impossible to control our thoughts. It wholly depends on our desire. If we practice doing it, we definitely will be able to do that. When during Mahabharata Lord Krishna told Arjuna to control his emotions and start fighting against the Kauravas. Arjuna asked Krishna very politely and easily said that our mind is the reason behind our success or failure but how a person can control his emotions? He asked about the way to control one’s emotions. Krishana answered that it’s not easy to control emotions but is not impossible too. If anyone starts practicing it despite failures, again and again, a stage will come when the person will be able to do that. For attaining this stage the person may have to sacrifice many things.
17. Everything Which Has A Beginning Has An End Also
Lord says that everything on this earth is mortal. Everything which has a beginning has an end also. Whenever an end takes place at the same time a new beginning can also be noticed. This cycle continues forever. This cycle continued in the past, is continuing presently, and will continue in the future also. This is a never-ending loop. This cycle is not a constant of Mathematics but a variable that varies with time. So, never take everything for granted as changes are sure to take place.
18. Soul Is The Most Powerful And The Greatest Entity
It’s said that our body is greater than our organs, thoughts are bigger than our body, wise actions are bigger than our thoughts and of all the biggest entity is the Soul. In Bhagavat Gita it has been mentioned that a person who thinks about his body and its pleasures only is cheap. If such a person raises his level of thinking and starts living a thoughtful life, then there is a chance of achieving success. A person who uses his intelligence to control his mind, body, and organs also, attains a spiritual level. It sounds to be very easy but it’s a tough level to achieve.
19. Happiness And Sorrow Is Only A State Of Mind
Happiness and sorrow have nothing to do with this world. It’s our state of mind which decides it. Being happy or sad depends upon our choice. These states of mind are like two wells. It depends on you, in which well you want to live. If you are living in the well of happiness, no one can drag you out of this well without your wish. The same rule is applicable in the case of the well of sadness also. These are the choices you have got. The final decision is all yours.
20. Our Biggest Enemy Is Our Mind
If we aren’t able to control our minds, it becomes our biggest enemy. Just think about why every person is not able to live a happy life. It’s only because of an unstable state of mind. It’s a bird that is very difficult to catch. If we have strong willpower we can control it, in that case, it will become our best friend and we can go on a journey of success with it.
21. Life Is Never In Past, Nor In Future, It’s Only In Present
We can think of our past only and might be harvesting its fruit at present, sweet or bitter, depending on our Karmas. The main thought should be, what we are doing presently because we are supposed to taste its fruit in the future. We should only perform our best presently because it’s going to have an impact on our future. What type of seed we are sowing today depends on us as we will have to bear its consequences in the future. A person sowing the seed of cactus can’t expect of getting a mango in the future. So, think about your present your future will be improved. Every person is known by deeds, not by his position. So, always try to do good deeds.
